Providing Assistance for Those In Need
HOW TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE
An individual needing assistance (the client)should call ONE church from the list below and submit a request for assistance from the
Good Samaritans of Fannin County
The client needs to supply their name, contact information, and detailed information about their need (This includes account numbers, amounts due, and the client’s ability to pay). The church then emails the
Good Samaritan On-Call Volunteer who calls the client.
For their safety, these volunteers are instructed to block their phone numbers so the clients need to make sure to accept calls from blocked numbers, and their phones are turned on. If they can only accept a call during certain times they need to inform the church of the best day and time to call.
If the client has not been assisted in the last year and if the on-call volunteer finds they are qualified to receive assistance, the volunteer then approves the request or informs the client why Good Samaritans cannot provide assistants at this time. One reason might be that another person living at the same address had recently received assistance.
Once approved, Good Samaritans make payments on the client’s behalf (no payments are made directly to clients). Good Samaritans may also partner with other agencies, charities, or churches if needed.
This may require the client to contact those organizations directly.
